Back in Feb my editor advised me to contemplate the title and cover of my book while she handled my last round of edits.

What’s wrong with THE GANYMEDE JOB? I thought. Plus I already had a cover.

She liked it but told me to observe how best sellers these days try to be more evocative: THE GIRL ON THE TRAIN or THE HUSBDAND’S SECRET and what have you.

I thought about it and decided I like THE GANYMEDE JOB (and I don’t want to keep finding more reasons to delay this project). It’s a cool weird name, like THE ANDROMEDA STRAIN. And I already created an ad that will more than outpace any title optimization strategies:

I digress.

In news related to FINISHING MY BOOK, those of you creeping on my Instagram know I’ve got to get this out now because I've committed to another hair-brained scheme this coming November. I’m getting in a fight.

This is not a writerly metaphor, I’m boxing in the Long Island Fight for Charity event on November 23rd. The countdown is kicking off Monday June 1st with the Boxer Announcement Cocktail party at the Heritage Club at the Bethpage Golf Courses ($20 Open Bar? Come on).

LIFC is a very cool event that supports Long Island families through their 501c3, LI Community Chest (these charities here). Full disclosure, I came across it at my gym when I asked my trainer how do I get a fight, and he pointed at the poster. Always nice when your mid-life crisis intersects with giving back (tbh I'm in my second decade of midlife crises style choices, and it's a blast!)
