We are the sum of how we spend each day. A tally of our minutes and hours.
It’s useful to keep in mind how many we might give away to worry or doubt or hate or fear.
How many today?
Great results can come with the accumulation of minutes in particular pursuits.
In addition to these results, the minutes themselves matter too. That’s the balance we play with. How should we allocate today’s sand?
How many today were we a writer, a thinker, an athlete, a friend? And how many yesterday?
Add those up and we can see what we are.
We get one shot to work hard on the things that we love and to be present with the ones who we love.
The great gift of being mortal is that we can give our lives to these choices.
